Good news from the 'ecocars' sector!
There has been a plethora of new electric and hybrid vehicles launched at various motor shows, which bides well for a more 'ecocar' future.

Audi e-tron.jpg

Above: The Audi e-tron: Hard to believe it's a four wheel drive electric vehicle!

These days electric cars no longer look as strange as they did when they first appeared and, in fact, in some cases, it's very hard to tell them apart from the generic petrol cars around.
Some, like the Audi e-tron look decidedly better!

Above: John Hanson driving his 1902 Columbia Tonneau, which is in original condition and unrestored, on the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run.

We had a press release from the The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, reminding us that there is nothing new about electric cars and indeed, hybrids. It's just that in the late 19th and early 20th Century, it was felt that the petrol internal combustion engine was they way to go. Now it seems there's a turnaround in thought!
I wonder what motoring would be like these days if the electric and hybrids were developed in the same way as the internal combusion engine was? Certainly quieter! - but would the electricity have been provided from sustainable sources?

...and we probably wouldn't have Clarkson presenting Top Gear!!!...
